The walk was as easy as I expected except for the stairs.
My favourite part of the walk was running down the hills.

My favourite part of the walk was counting all the yellow & pink stars on the way.
Amber was caring because she was telling me to keep up with the group.

Horomata wiki 11 - Look after the school and respect other peoples property.

Look after the school and respect other peoples property is the virtue of the week.  It simply means you have to take care of the school in many ways and make sure you respect other peoples property.

You can take care of the school by not scratching the paint off the walls, picking up rubbish left around the school, not littering, not jumping the fences and not smashing windows.

You can respect other peoples property by asking to use something of theirs, not stealing their lunch, not messing up their shoes or not opening their bag.

On the 10th of April Whaea Raina, the children and their parents will be having the Student Led Conferences.  The children will be talking to their parents about their learning.  They will be talking about reading, writing, maths and general.  The children will be telling the parents what they can do and what they are learning to do in each subject.  I wish you all a great week and Whaea Raina can't wait to see you all at the Student Led Conferences.

Week 8 - Caring

The virtue of the week is caring. Caring means looking after people if they are upset and looking after other peoples property. So if someone says you can play with something of theirs look after it.

Descriptive writing: Occupation Librarians

Whainga Paetae:  I am learning to choose the most interesting details and comments to add into my writing.  I can think of things and extend out the interesting parts.

I think there are a lot of  librarians in New Zealand.  Maybe like over 10, 000 librarians are in New Zealand because there are a lot of cities and places in New Zealand.   We need librarians so people can go to the library to chill out and relax.  They could do that by reading books and playing on the computers. We also need librarians because if people want to watch a DVD they haven't seen before they can go to the library because they're only $1.00 each.  You can also get games out for free!!!

Librarians issue the books for the person who wants them out.  Librarians put the books on the shelf.  They also let you play on the computer, they let you get DVD's and games out for the playstation, Xbox 360 or the computers.  The librarians are very, very kind and helpful so they are very sterling when you need help with something.

If I was a librarian I would like to help people with finding things, setting up the computers, meeting nice people and knowing that I'm doing something first-class for everyone.

The dislikes would be getting paid the wrong amount, the computers stuffing up, when something goes wrong e.g computers, the thing that unlocks the DVD's and games and the scanner, also when people complain about not finding things.

If I was a librarian I would feel PHENOMENAL because I really love reading and because you can meet new people.

Descriptive Writing: Occupation - Librarians

Whainga Paetae:  I am learning to choose the most interesting details and comments to add into my writing.  I will think of things and then extend out the interesting parts.

In New Zealand I think there are over 10,000 librarians.  Librarians are people who work in libraries and issue books.  We need librarians because they know a lot about books.

Librarians work in different sections in a library.  They don't just issue books they can issue DVDs and CDs as well.  Librarians also help you find books that are hidden in the library.

Librarians like reading books that they like in their spare time, using the computer, helping others, browsing the library and having the same people say hello when they visit.

Even though there are positives the negatives have to come along too. Librarians don't like picking up books after people, when the computer freezes while they are doing something, books not being in the right section and heaps of people coming to you at once.

Some people think that being a librarian is easy but it is difficult too.  I think we will have better librarians in the future because there might be new authors that write exciting books.  If I was a librarian I would enjoy going to work.
