My BIG FAMOUS BROTHER! JAX

On Friday Otago played rugby.  They faced Tasman from Malborough.  My big bother Jackson was in the Otago team.  He got the first try.
A lot of people bet on my brother.  My mum bet on my brother and we won $765 and my dad bet $10 on my brother just to get a try.  The score was 41-34.
Jackson plays at lock position.  He is good at smashing people over and he is big and strong and he is really really fast.  Jackson is the man at rugby and blowing people.  A lot of people were calling us and saying did you see that?
When my dad went to take his bet, this woman said "He's not going to get the first try he's a lock!"  Then a man said "A lot of people bet on him."
I wish my brother good luck in his next game and I hope he gets the first try again.

Koare's Big Brother - Otago versus Tasman

On Friday 20.10.12 Koare's big brother Jackson played a rugby game.  Jackson played rugby for Otago.  Otago won 41 34.  Otago faced Tasman.  Jackson got the first try of the game for his team.  Otago won by 7 points.  I felt elated watching Jackson play rugby. Jackson is good at blowing over after someone gets tackled.  My favourite moment was when Jackson got a try.

Loyalty is like cleaning your room with out  being asked and doing the dishes with out being asked. I use loyalty by not fighting with other people.

Week 6 Kupu Hou

decrepit and antiquated (old)

You can use these words in sentences that describe something or someone old e.g. 'My fish Sally is now decrepit' or 'My peanut and jelly sandwich is really antiquated'.

Week 6 Horomata - Tuku-marie

The horomata of week 6 is tolerance.  Tolerance is when you put up with something and tolerate it e.g. if someone's desk is messy don't tell them to clean it just tolerate it or if you don't like other people's personality be tolerant and don't be mean about their personality.  I use tolerance when I let other people do their own thing.

The power of words

This morning we all read a article called, The power of words.
It was all about cyberbullying. We had to answer three simple questions.

What is the problem?
The problem was that the kids that were getting cyberbullyed didn't do anything about it.

How do you think they felt when they saw these messages?
I think they felt scared because they didn't know what to do.

How would you feel if you got these messages?
I would feel scared because I don't know who their from.

Ariana- The Weet-bix Try-athlon 2012

On the 21.3.12 I traveled to the weet- bix try-athlon. I was in a team with Kiarn and Jared. I was swimming. I had to swim two lengths but I stopped halfway and got a flutter board because my legs started to hurt. There were life guards every where so they could help you. When I got to the end of the pool I had to turn around and go to the other end of the pool. Then I had to jump out of the pool and go tag Kiarn who was biking. I couldn't walk properly because my legs were sore but I still got to Kiarn. I was proud of myself for completing the race. My favourite part was when I did the race and finished it. The try-athlon was scintillating!!!

Emily's Weet-Bix Triathlon

On the 21/3/12 I raced in the Weet-Bix Try-athlon 2012. I did the individual race as a 9 year old. Four students did the individual race, it was a very sublime tryathlon for our school. For swimming the 9 year olds all had to swim 100 metres which is 2 lengths, luckily there were people with flutterboards to help people swim. Then it was the bike, you had to bike 4km if you were 7-10 years old. I managed to finish the bike confidently. The last event was the run, you had to run a long way 1.5km to finish the tryathlon. When you finished your race you get a medal and a card that told you when you finished the tryathlon. My time was 48 minutes. I really was delighted I took part in this triathlon.

Weet-bix tryathlon-Aaria

At the Weet-bix Tryathlon 2012 I did everything. I participated in the swim first then the bike and then the run and it was the best day ever. because we got fantastic medils and a nice shiny drink bottle the best race was swimming cause we got to swim in the diviing board pool.

Calais's opinion about the future of wireless internet

The wireless internet may change the way kids learn by helping them to get information quickly.
The wireless internet may change schools because kids can learn more information from the internet then at school.

Horomata - How do room 2 use tolerance?

Lance - E-books online

We believe E-books motivate children because of the music. The music sets the scene. I like E-books because they are fun to use. E-books might change schools because all children who use them will need a computer.

Whetu E-books online

We think e-books may be a lot cheaper then buying a book. How might it change schools?
E-books might change schools because all children who use them will need a computer.
E-books may change schools because they can be a good or bad .

Winston E-books online

We think E-books may be a lot cheaper then buying books. How might it change schools? They could be bad because they might have bad language and they might make children lazy by not reading and just listening.

Koare E-books online

We believe E-books will be useful in the future because we won't need to carry so many books. They might change schools because all of the children who use them will need a computer and they are very expensive.
